Our Pastor

James Redmann Photo Easter 2016Pastor James Redmann was born in Detroit Michigan, on September 22 1942, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Victor Redmann. He was baptized at Atonement Lutheran Church Dearborn Michigan. He attended Atonement’s elementary school through the eighth grade. He went to Lutheran High-West Detroit and graduated in June 1960. Upon graduating from High School he entered the United States Navy and served until 1963.

In 1964 he entered Concordia College, St. Paul Mn. receiving his BA degree in Education in 1968. He then entered Concordia Theological Seminary, Springfield, IL. After completing one year at the seminary, he took a two-year leave of absence to teach school in the Springfield Public School system. He then returned to his theological studies in 1971 and graduated in May 1975 with a Master of Divinity degree.

Pastor Redmann was ordained into the Holy Ministry on June 8, 1975, at Zion Lutheran Church, New Holland, IL. In 1976 he accepted a Call as associate pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Bay City, MI. In 1979 he accepted the Call to Grace Lutheran Church, Menomonee Falls, WI., as assistant Pastor. In 1981 he accepted the Call of Trinity Lutheran Church, Conklin, MI. Pastor Redmann served God’s people at Trinity until 1991 when he accepted the Call of Faith Lutheran Church Hopkinsville, KY., In 2009 Grace Lutheran Church Elk Rapids extended a Call to Pastor Redmann to come and serve their congregation in Elk Rapids. Pastor Redmann was installed as the Pastor of Grace Lutheran Church June 20, 2010

On June 6 1965, James & Lois nee, Ford, were united in Marriage at Gethsemane Lutheran Church Detroit Michigan, they are the parents of five children and grandparents of 10 grandchildren.
